Just the other day I was speaking with someone who asked me why they tend to hold themselves back from doing what they are capable of , when it hit me like a load of bricks.

Every other sentence began with a bad case of the Once–I’s.

What are these Once-I’s you ask?

Let me tell you. They are the stumbling block to Success.

You see, so many people have great ideas, wonderful dreams and desires. Yet when pressed on why they don’t follow through on these things, they usually begin their sentence like this…like they are waiting for the perfect time to actually do it, we say things like…

Well,

“Once I find that perfect job“, or

“Once I get some money saved up“, or “the Kids leave the house“, or

“Once I find the right people to back me“, or…whatever.

You are a bright group and get where I’m headed on this, right?

Here’s the BIG secret , there is ‘Always’ the perfect time to do something, and that time is NOW, whoops, there it goes, OK the best time to do something is….Now,
Oh my, there it goes that perfect time again, OK, how about….. Now?…opps can’t get that time back.

You get the picture, there are only so many hours in the day, and so many days in our lives on this wonderful planet, so make the most of them, life’s too short to “wait” it out.

For myself, Here is my little (knucklehead) theory, that I got over fast.
I was waiting to get that special dream house , you know, that one in your favorite part of town, near the best schools, painted in your favorite color, for when I, or (Once I) met that perfect woman to share it with.

Boy, did that pay off, (Sarcastic tone) Let me tell you… the property values doubled, so I now have to pay twice as much, and due to my inaction, the best houses got sold before I stepped up to the plate so my selection is now limited, and the funny thing is…Now that I am finally in escrow to buy that great house, what do you know…I met that special lady…funny how thing work, huh?

How many times have you also, waited too long, only to see the opportunity vanish, or someone else get credit for your great idea?

The Moral of the story, we ALL have something we have been putting off, a dream left unfulfilled until the (right Time). So I challenge you, as I do each and every month.

Sit down, write it out, and find exactly what you have been waiting for, due to your own personal case of the Once-I’s.

Then, as always, Take action and just do it. The best time to cure our bad case of the Once-I’s, is right Now!

Fears Only Enemy is ACTION. You can’t steal second when your foot is on first base.

That’s how I approach life and that’s the mission behind my latest training program, Pathways To Greatness.

As luck would have it, my fiancee teamed with Santa this year to bring me the “best” gaming system around today.

It didn’t take long before the adrenaline kicked into high gear.

The first game I played was one of my old time favorites – Ping pong.

Cranking of the program, I wanted to see how many times I could keep the ball in play before I missed a shot.

First game – 38
Second – 65
Third – 82

Until finally I broke the top spot and rallied 100 times.

Point is, once I hit the first level, the second was attained in no time, with the score gradually increasing on each attempt.

This is where my mind raced asking – isn’t this the same thing we do in life outside the gaming console as well?

It seems once we hit one point in life, (perhaps get our first apartment) we gradually improve upon our life from that spot forward.

Next time out, we may get a nice condo – then a townhouse, then our own home, until one day we move into that special location that we always dreamed about.

For this to be true isn’t it time we raised the level of game we’re playing right now?

How boring would life be to always play on beginner level and stop when we’re partial way to the top?

Why is it, that with games, we push ourselves, to be better, faster, and reach new heights – yet in real life we tend to play it safe without pushing ourselves to our limits and full potential?

Perhaps today is the day we press that restart button, and begin our quest toward greatness.

All things are possible, and together Wii can do it!

I’ve created a Step By Step 11 Week Personal Development Training Program to Raise the Level of The Game you are playing.

Find joy in the little things.

Success comes from knowing that you lived a life lived well.

It seems that in today’s fast pasted, multi tasking society; we forget to follow the time tested adage of simply ‘stopping to smell the roses”

How many times have we let the glory of a sunset pass, because we were focusing on the bumper to bumper traffic instead?

We get caught up in the day to day activities rather than taking the time to enjoy the gift of existence.

Not quit sure who said it, but one quote never rang so true.

“It’s guaranteed that while you are in your last of days, you will not look back on life and wish that you would have spent more time in the office.”

By agreeing that this statement is true, wouldn’t it make sense to set a few moments aside from something we will not remember, and replace them with an experience that we will?

This can be accomplished by finding Joy in the little things.

Start with something small.
Take two short minutes to look at the outside of your own refrigerator.

Actually stop and take in all the notes, photos, drawings, or even the magnets you brought back from your last vacation. (When was that anyway?)

Immediately, you may see that a chunk of metal may be enjoying your life’s special moments than we have ourselves.

It takes more than passion!

You’ve seen these late night infomercial people, telling you to succeed – all you need is passion for what you do.

HogWash!

Let me ask you something, have you ever watched one of those on air talent contests?
Sure, the contestant may have tremendous passion and fire for what they do, yet if they simply not talented, will they make it through the show?

Of course not.

That’s because, passion is not enough.

To be truly successful, we need more ingredients in the mix.
Like what you ask?

After you have Passion, and you know you have talent, what good is this gift unless you do something with it?

Its all about – Action.

You’ve heard this through the magazine a thousand times, it’s the Action behind the attrAction that really makes your dreams come true.

Here’s a challenge.

You already know what excites you, so combine it with what you are good at – and then do something about it.

Now is the time to separate yourself from the people who dream of success to the small percentage that achieves it.

Write down 3 simple tasks that you may follow.
When you wake tomorrow – do those three things.

Once completed, repeat the cycle and do it again – yes, it really is that easy.

Just like the adage goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a singe footstep.”
It’s time to start moving – your dream is out there waiting for you to get there.

Life is like a Ferris wheel…

There are Up’s ~ there are downs, and we never want the ride to end.

The one thing about life is that although we are pretty much guaranteed to face challenges from time to time…It sure beats the alternative.

In fact, it’s been joked about that the only people, who have no problems, can only be found in grave yards.

For this to be the case, we have to question:

Is success determined by the amount of ‘peace’ we have, or by the amount of turmoil we are in?

As odd as the query may seem, lets examine it a bit:

Why is it that the most successful people ‘rarely’ feel satisfied?

The over achievers, leaders, and big dreamers.

Could it be that the old adage is actually true?
Success has no destination, and it’s the journey that creates our experience.

Perhaps our progress could simply be defined in a new way:

As long as we are in pursuit of what is important to us, we are therefore deemed Successful!

A pretty good way to look at things – agreed?
